Street Art Renovation
Class 4 investigated how graffiti has become increasingly seen as an art form and looked at the history about graffiti in New York City and how it has become increasingly elaborate over time..
The children studied how street artists have been commissioned to create works of art on buildings, or in public spaces, and how
rarely have a neat, rectangular canvas like many artists choose to work on. From here, the pupils explored the unusual
techniques and materials used by street artists to improve and enhanced various objects and areas in everyday environments.
They discussed the questions - Do you think graffiti and other forms of street art are chosen to decorate public spaces? Do you
think it has improved the spaces we've looked at? What do you think?
