This week in Maths we have been learning about fractions.
In red group we have been making fraction walls by separating squares into different numbers and splitting them into equal sections, we coloured these in and tried to discover any equivalent fractions. Next we tried to find the links between each equivalent fraction and how to work these out. Then we used this method to work out which fraction was biggest.
In yellow and green group we have been identifying fractions using different methods. These included fraction diagrams, fraction walls and accurately drawing fractions. Today we have been finding equivalent fractions and then decided which were larger or smaller.
Our thoughts on fractions:
Millie B: “Maths has been interesting and very challenging this week but I have learnt a lot and have enjoyed experimenting with fractions.”
Millie L: “I love maths! Fractions have been quite hard and lots of fun. I enjoyed colouring in the different fractions and finding equivalents.”
