Mental health and emotional well-being

Following on from Mrs Jennings' assembly, which helped us to consider our mental health, Class 4 then brought this back in to the classroom to further our learning and thoughts in some animated discussions.

We considered the idea of who and what we were influenced by, whether these were positive or negative influences and developed more of an understanding of the difference between physical, mental and emotional health. We then considered ways in which we could tackle negative influences and strategies to deal with issues which may affect our mental health.

Firstly, the children completed a diamond 9 activity to organise their opinions as to who influenced them the most. We had lots of quality discussion regarding their answers.

Following this, the children were then challenged to categorise a set of cards into positive influences and negative influences. Again, the children were eager to discuss their choices.
