Homework Heroes - Week 1
Wow! Homework submitted today has been absolutely fantastic, I have thoroughly enjoyed reading through all your pieces. I've learnt many interesting facts, read about different plants and seen some truly amazing Roman shields.
William
impressed me this week by carefully dissected a plant and labelling each part. There is also a photograph of William planting a seed, a wonder what seed he has chosen to plant .. we'll have to wait and see! William also created a 'Five Fantastic Food Facts' poster!
- Honey is the only food that doesn't go off
- One bag of sugar contains 5 million grains
- It takes 250 peanuts to make a standard jar of peanut butter
- Peanuts are used in dynamite
- Volcanic ash is used in some toothpastes
Bethany S
stood out this week with her amazing large Art Attack! Over the weekend, she created a large park scene including swings, a see-saw, a picnic area and a slide! Great effort Bethany, I do wonder where you took the photo from? Bethany also drew a wonderful plant and labelled each part in detail, well done!
Chloe D
also stood out this week with her beautifully presented awesome facts and her detailed explanations of the different part of plants. My top three awesome facts are:
- If you keep going north, you will eventually go south but if you keep going east, you will never go west
- One Charlie Chaplin entered a contest for the best 'Charlie Chaplin look-alikes' and he came third
- Napoleon was not actually short. The French inch was longer than the British inch. So whilst he was thought to be 5'2 by most of the world, he was actually closer to 5'7
Romans Shields!
Wow! Today I was extremely impressed with the time and effort put into 4 Roman shields! Liam, Evie, Billy and Poppy have all done a superb job, making life-sized shields. They were all amazing - well done guys!
