Homework Heroes - Week 4

Yet again, homework heroes were difficult to choose this week. Well done to Beth, Liberty and Bethany who all stood out this week.

Beth

completed the narrative set, including lots of wonderful vocabulary and literacy devices - have a listen below. Beth also looked at the artist Claude Monet, who was born in Paris, France, in 1846. In 1851 he started at Le Havre Secondary School of the Arts and painted a very famous painting called 'sunflowers' in 1881, which Beth has imitated beautifully.

Liberty

invented a fantastic new animal called the 'Cata-hippo'.

  • it is half caterpillar, half hippo
  • it lives at the bottom of the sea
  • it eats sea urchins and seaweed
  • it's enemy is the stinging jellyfish and the great white shark
  • it is a foot long
  • it can change colour and hide
  • it can blend into its surroundings
  • it's tentacles light up when it cannot see

Doesn't he sound interesting? I can tell Liberty put a lot of thought into her new animal, but she also made a 3D model of the cata-hippo too! Isn't he cute? For Liberty's second piece of homework, she wrote a beautiful poem about France - well done!

Bethany S

also created a wonderful new creature this week, called the Elva Snake - she is Medusa's sister!

  • she lives in the hot, sunny desert
  • Elva has dark green terrifying snakes as hair, and bright yellow skin
  • She also has beautiful short purple strands of hair
  • Her rosy red lips look like roses
  • She wears a fantastic patterned, colourful dress with petrifying snakes at the bottom

Wow! Another interesting animal, described in great detail - well done Bethany. For Bethany's second piece, she worked hard practising her timestables.
