In class two we have started our new topic in science called 'Ready Steady Grow'. In our first lesson we looked closely at different fruits and vegetables using magnifying glasses to notice all the different textures, patterns and seeds we could see. We then sketched what we saw and spent some time outside sketching details of flowers. After sketching the flowers in our second lesson, we made our own flowers using felt, paper plates, lollipop sticks and string. We focused on the four main parts of the flower. We found out that the four main parts are the petals, stem, roots and leaves. Afterwards, we spent some time carefully labelling the main parts of our flowers and discussed what the functions of the four main flower parts are.
